Zoning Question on the Ballot Tomorrow

Email sent to Brookside residents but important to all ---

Hello Brookside Neighbors and Friends,

In addition to the primaries for Mayor and City Council, there is another question on next Tuesday's ballot. (This hasn't received much publicity, but I think it's important.)

"SHALL THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF TULSA BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE THEREQUIREMENT OF AN AFFIRMATIVE VOTE OF THREEFOURTHS (3/4) OF THE ENTIREMEMBERSHIP OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO EFFECT A CHANGE OF ZONING IN THE EVENT ASUFFICIENT PROTEST IS FILED?"

This is a very important issue relating to neighborhoods. This will make it harder for developers to change zoning to meet the needs of a project whenit is being contested by neighborhood associations. Zoning should not be easily changed at the whim of a developer. Zoning ordinances protect the"little guy" from the city as well as developers. It is very important that you vote YES on Tuesday.
